What is On Page Optimization/SEO?

The design of the website should be user-friendly to helps the user to navigate from one page to another page. It doesn’t matter whether you are developing a website with the help of coding or using a WordPress theme, your website design should be user-friendly. At the end, Google shows only those websites on the top which have good design and better user experience. In case you choose WordPress theme for your website, you do not need to worry about the design. Most of the WordPress themes are SEO optimized.
Google know which programming language you have used for your website.The search engine gives the ranking to the content, not to the coding. The content should be 80% or more on a single webpage and the balance part can be code.
The website coding can affect your webpage extension. Your webpage URL should not be ended with any language extension like .php. You can also improve the response time of your website using below methods:

The title of the webpage is the first impression of your post listed on Google and also a critical factor of ranking. You can use the Yoast SEO plugin to create the title. The title is the blue text highlighted in Google SERP. You can optimize the title using Yoast SEO plugin.
- Requirements of title optimization:
- The length of the title should be maximum 80 characters
- Targeting keywords must be in included in the title.
- Write unique title every webpage of your website
- Use “,” or “or”, to add more than one keyword
URLs can be created in two formats, static and dynamic. Dynamic URLs are auto-generated URL by WordPress for example, www.pageshout.com/?article=13. It does not include any target keyword. However, the static URLs are created manually in WordPress. For example, www.pageshout.com/what-is-seo/. For SEO purpose you should convert the dynamic URL into static URL.
Note: You can define the default URL format in WordPress under settings > permalinks > post name.
You can also use the Yoast SEO plugin to create the URL for the post. Refer to the below guideline for URL optimization:
a. Always use the small character in URL to avoid duplicity
b. The URL should be unique for each webpage.
c. The targeted keyword must be included in the URL.
d. Avoid spaces in URL. Space automatically converted into %20.
Meta Tags Optimization
Meta tags are the additional information given to the search engine to identify the page content or topic. Meta tags include:
Target keywords must be added into meta description. You can add 155 to 200 characters inside the meta description.
In meta keywords, you need to mention all the target keywords separated by the comma. Here you can also add 155 to 200 characters.
Meta robots give the instruction to the search engine to index and follow a particular page or not. This option in available in Yoast SEO plugin under the settings tab.The default settings updated in Yoast SEO are “Follow & Index”.
Google rank a webpage based on the content of the webpage. People come to the search engine to search for the valuable information. So the content optimization is a highly important factor to rank on google. Target keyword must be included in the content. Keyword frequency and density need to maintain. The target keyword should repeat at least 2-6% in the content. In addition to frequency and density, the content length should be at least 300 words.

- The links should be given on the post to the other posts or pages. It helps the user to know about other linked topics on your post. It keeps the Google crawler engages on your webpage and indexes all the linked pages on your website.
You need to submit the sitemap of your blog or website in google search console. The sitemap would be available under Yoast SEO dashboard.

- You should use at least one image for your post. The images used for the post must be similar to the topic of your post. For example, you create a post on “how to make cakes”. The image should express your topic. For the post “how to make cakes”, the image must include a clip or image of a cake. The targeted keywords should be added in the Alt text field available under Yoast SEO plugin.
You should include the about section, address of the company, links to the important topics or categories, social icons, other businesses & location of the business in the footer section of your blog or website.
